Taurus the Bull represents the second sign of the Zodiac (21 April - 20 May).

Although this region of the night sky had been identified as a bull's head and forelegs since prehistoric times, the Greeks identified the bull to be Zeus, king of the gods, in the form that he took to pursue Europa.

The brightest and most well known star comprising Taurus is the orange giant called Aldebaran, an irregular variable star that represents the bull's eye. This star is a relatively close 65 light years from our Solar System. Also prominent in Taurus is the first magnitude blue star, Nath, which forms the tip of the northern horn.

The three Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn) are renowned for their common sense.
